The winners of the Druck&Medien Awards 2009 have been announced, and Druckstudio GmbH in Düsseldorf has been named Commercial Printer of the Year. The panel of judges had a total of 280 entries to deliberate over – the highest number ever in the event’s five-year history.
The judges reserved special praise for the successful print shop’s coherent overall concept. This includes quality management – the majority of the ever smaller number of complaints are internal – and the ongoing investment in new technologies. Social commitment and sustainability are further key components of the corporate philosophy, along with employee profit-sharing. Another success factor, and one that is often neglected according to the judges, is marketing and PR. They underlined that Druckstudio’s new website, the customer magazine and the print shop’s presence in daily and trade media rounded off the winning ensemble. Business was also deemed to be going very well. Even in the first four months of this difficult crisis year, Druckstudio GmbH has increased its sales by 30 percent – “Impressive figures!” marvelled the judges.
The awards were presented on 29 October at a gala evening in Berlin hosted by Barbara Schöneberger. A total of 26 trophies were awarded to print companies in all shapes and sizes.
