The Druckstudio Group won one of the coveted “PrintStars 2014” for a very special print product in the Business Reports category at the Innovation Awards of the German Printing Industry. Managing Director Werner Drechsler accepted the bronze award at the Liederhalle convention centre in Stuttgart on 18 September. Druckstudio was honoured for the Metro Group 2013 Annual Report, which it produced in a completely environmentally friendly process.
“Down to business” was the title of the annual report that Druckstudio entered for the awards. The report was designed to resemble a work folder. The judges’ verdict? “A really great print product and a successfully executed idea from start to finish, down to the finest detail.” During production of the annual report the focus was on sustainability, with Druckstudio using inks and coatings certified to the strictest environmental standards and printing the report on a carbon-neutral basis. “The Metro Group Annual Report is proof we can produce print products in a completely environmentally friendly process without compromising on quality,” says Drechsler, explaining his company’s achievement. “Our entire team is proud this has enabled us to win one of the PrintStars 2014.”
Eight print products from Druckstudio – comprising catalogues, books, calendars and magazines – made it to the final round of this year’s PrintStars. The panel of judges – comprising specialists from the industry – evaluated entries from over 900 participants in a total of 28 categories, including flyers, magazines and packaging. This year was the eleventh time these prestigious industry awards have been presented.
