Consistently high standards confirmed in quality, environmental and energy management

The Druckstudio Group has successfully passed three re-certification audits at once. This re-certification to the internationally recognised standards for quality management (DIN EN ISO 9001), environmental management (DIN EN ISO 14001) and energy management (DIN EN ISO 50001) confirms the company’s consistently high commitment to quality and the eco-friendly, energy-efficient production of its print products.

During the re-certification process, the auditors were particularly impressed by the company’s commitment to constantly monitoring production, services and development in order to further optimize the high-quality, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly production of its print products. “The Druckstudio Group has established an exceptionally sophisticated, process-oriented management system,” confirmed DQS certification auditor Dieter Pfaff. “The management team has clearly understood how to make the most out of the added value gained by standardising and optimising processes. The company’s consistent adherence to high quality standards is also impressive. And the level of sustainability that has been achieved here is one of the best I’ve seen in many years of practice. All of this is down to having a highly motivated and committed team.”

Quality management – low complaint rate and maximum flexibility for premium printing
The DIN EN ISO 9001 re-certification for quality management confirms that processes and business procedures have been optimised successfully and efficiency increased. “This re-certification shows that our quality management has reached a very high standard that we want to keep improving on,” explains Werner Drechsler, Managing Director of the Druckstudio Group. “Our customers benefit from this directly – the results are excellent print quality, an extremely low complaint rate and maximum flexibility even when time is limited.” Among other things, the Druckstudio Group uses intense discussions with its customers to continue improving satisfaction and the quality of print products in line with customer requirements.

Environmental management – waste reduction
In the words of the auditor, the Druckstudio Group has “analysed its environmental data continuously and presented it exceptionally well, making it easy during certification to verify the high standards that have been achieved in environmental management.” “We have used the time since our last certification to achieve even further improvements,” says Drechsler. For instance, since the company was first awarded DIN EN ISO 14001 certification for environmental management in 2012, it has been able to reduce its use of solvents still further. Thanks to its increasing use of solvent-free products, the Druckstudio Group has cut the share of hazardous waste by some 61%. What’s more, it has also developed a system for assessing suppliers that helps when making environment-related decisions.

Energy management – energy consumption further reduced
The Druckstudio Group has also made progress in the area of energy management. Since the first confirmation of DIN EN ISO 14001 certification for energy management, new, more energy-efficient presses and ongoing staff training programmes in efficient plant operation have contributed to reducing the company’s energy consumption still further. Thanks to high technological standards and efficient operational processes, consumption of electricity (kWh per metric ton of paper) has been reduced by another 10.5% since the first certification.

The Druckstudio Group was awarded all three certifications by the independent body DQS GmbH (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen). Founded in 1985 as the first German certification body, DQS GmbH is now a leading international certification company with offices and auditors in 50 countries worldwide.
